It is enough to set mail client in notebook or personal computer and then via IR-port or data cable connect mobile phone to mobile network. After that it is possible to send and receive e-mail. There are notebooks for which mobile phone is not necessary because Kyivstar`s SIM-card can be placed directly in it. Service subscribers can use CSD and GPRS data transfer technologies.
You will need:
Proper mobile phone (that is presence of data cable connection socket, IR-port).
Connection cable in case if connection goes via cable (cable can be supplied with phone or bought separately. The type of necessary cable can be found out from phone manual or found on manufacturer’s WEB-site).
A computer with free COM- or USB-port (if there is USB cable) or IR-port (presence of IR-port can be determined by presence of «Infra-red connection» shortcut in the tray panel, and also by dark red translucent window on computer case or on external device. During IR-port use phone should be placed within a 120 degrees view zone and on distances from 10 centimeters to 1 m. Phone also should be equipped with IR-port).
Software (usually supplied with phone on a CD, it is also possible to find it on manufacturer’s WEB-site, for example, www.nokia.com, www.my-siemens.com): the program which set phone as the modem, or mobile phone modem driver, or modern operational systems, such as Windows 2000, XP which in case of new device connection automatically determine its type, in our case — modem (mobile phone), and also install necessary drivers (if the driver can not be found, the system will suggest to install driver from a disk).
