Email client

A large number of modern hand-sets models supports e-mail client. It allows you to access your mail box in the internet. All you need is to setup all parameters needed — and you will be able to send and receive emails, using your mobile phone. You may use CSD and GPRS technologies.

In order to start using your mail client, you will need:

  • Mobile phone with mail client and Java (J2ME) and Java-applications support, which will allow you to work with you emails.
  • Your own mail box, registered in specialized sites (for example, www.starport.com.ua, www.mail.ru, www.rambler.ru, www.yahoo.com, www.ukr.net). Provider post system should allow you to use ÐÎÐ3 or IMAP4 protocols.

To set up a mail client the following data is needed (user can get it form mail services providers, as a rule such information is published on the mail provider site):

  • Incoming mail server POP3. For example: mail.starport.com.ua. For some telephone sets, for example for Ericsson, one has to indicate addresses as IP-address 193.41.60.105. You may get IP-address by typing in the command Ping command, space and the server address (for example: ping mail.starport.com.ua). In a few second you will see the needed IP-address on your screen.
  • Outgoing mail server SMTP:: relay.kyivstar.net or 193.41.60.22. Also you may use the outgoing mail server of the provider, if you are connecting using its modem pool.

General settings

You will get the following advantages by using email client in you hand-set:

  • All you need is your phone with built in e-mail client. There is no need in other equipment to send and receive your emails.
  • Possibility to use ordinary email address or even several of them.
  • Funds saving: because messages are read and edited directly in your phone, thus you are paying only for the size of the message but no for the time spend for connection.
  • Possibility to attach pictures, music files to your letter. For example you may attach a photo made with your phone.
